Douglas Royals Fall in First Game at CCAA Nationals

Despite a strong start to the first half, the Douglas College Royals women's basketball team fell to the Geants de Saint-Jean 67-54 at the 2024 CCAA National Tournament in Lloydminster, AB. The Royals outrebounded their opponents 37-31 but just couldn't put away second-chance opportunities against a strong opponent.

Mackenzie Dalphond had 10 points and seven boards and was named the Royals Player of the Game for her efforts. Karishma Rai and Laini Glover both had 8 points.

The Royals still have plenty to play for, as they can still earn a bronze medal. That quest begins tomorrow, as they play The King's University Eagles tomorrow at 12 p.m. local time. Fans can watch the live stream via the CCAA website.
