Men's Volleyball Wins Silver Medal at 2025 CCAA National Championships

The Douglas College Royals Men's Volleyball team won the silver medal at the 2025 CCAA National Championships. This is the program's first national medal since winning a silver medal in 2012.

The Royals lost to the Red Deer Kings 3-0 in the gold medal match. Despite holding a lead in the third set, they couldn't overcome a very strong Red Deer team that was constantly amongst the top-ranked teams in the CCAA all season. Marvin Tumusiime was named Player of the Match and a First Team All-Star for the tournament. Elijah Kim was named a First Team All-Star, while Tyler Tran was named a Second Team All-Star.

The silver medal caps off a remarkable run for the team in 2025, one where they went on a 12-3 run overall to win the PACWEST Men's Volleyball title and defeating the Dragons de Sainte-Anne and the CMU Blazers to advance to within one win of a CCAA gold medal. The Royals won seven major awards and All-Stars in the regular season, and six postseason awards and All-Star nods.
