David Petroziello named Head Coach of Men's Basketball Program

David Petroziello has been named the new Head Coach of the Douglas College Royals Men's Basketball program.

Coach Petroziello brings an extensive background of Canadian post-secondary Head Coaching experience to the Royals, leading programs in both the CCAA and USports. His wealth of Canadian coaching experience is further supplemented by a global perspective. He has coached overseas on several occasions, including time spent in India working with the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and the Punjab Basketball Association (PBA). His professional level coaching background includes coaching roles with clubs in Western Australia and Queensland, as well as here in British Columbia when, in 2008-2009, he was General Manager and Head Coach of the Vancouver Titans (IBL).

"His fundamental approach to developing and supporting student-athletes as they transition through the different stages of their lives, aligns with the Royals values".

Majoring in Political Studies, with a Public Policy Administration minor, the Bishops University Honours Graduate, later attended Vancouver Island University for a Master's of Arts degree in Sustainable Leisure Management.
