Royals for Provincials: Men's Volleyball Edition

After a rough end to 2022, the Men's Volleyball Team has continued to work hard and play better. A highlight of 2023 was beating College of the Rockies who currently rank 8th in the country by the CCAA. Their hard work has paid off as they recently passed VIU for the 3rd sport in the league.

According to Senior Men's Volleyball player, Greg Moore (#12), this year has "been interesting." At the beginning of the season, they had "a lot of new guys coming in, had a little bit of roster turnover but we've just kept getting better… and figuring it out." Greg's favourite part of playing with Douglas is the "road trips" and "just being able to spend so much time with all these guys; it's really what playing sports is all about." "We're trying to hit our peak at provincials and everything we're doing right now, and throughout the regular season, is working up to that."

Coach Jay Tremonity says that he's "excited" for provincials. "The gym's pretty light right now and I think we know that we've continually improved in the second semester and so we're feeling good about that." Although they can relax completely yet, Coach Jay let us know that "they're looking forward to that challenge and opportunity."

We wish the Men's Volleyball Team all the best at their upcoming provincial semi-finals. Visit the PACWEST website for more information on how to support the team.
