The 2024 Royals Scholarship Lunch is back for another year to celebrate the impact philanthropy has on supporting our Douglas College student-athletes. The goal of the event is to raise funds to support and strengthen pathways for student-athlete success and to bring together and celebrate our philanthropic community.

"Having a scholarship has really been able to help me focus on my goals," said Abbie Smith, women's volleyball. "Being able to put in more time and effort into those areas without having that extra stress and worry about going into debt for paying for school or having to find extra work to be able to be financially stable was crucial."

In the 2023-2024 season, the Royals achieved academic and athletic success. In the classroom, the Royals collectively earned a cumulative 3.00 GPA. Eight student-athletes were recipients of the prestigious CCAA Academic All-Canadian award, and 22 student-athletes received the PACWEST Academic Excellence recognition.

On the competition surface, it was a banner year. Firstly, the Royals won the 2023 CCAA Men's Soccer National Championship. Adding to the success, the Royals were the 2023 PACWEST Women's Soccer and the 2024 Women's Basketball conference champions.
