On Saturday, March 12, the Douglas College Royals Running Club participated in the St.Partick’s Day 5k Run Provincial Championship held at Stanley Park, Vancouver. The team had an impressive showing with 15 athletes competing in this years race.

Chase Slater finished With the time of 17:25, followed closely by Kristian Gosvik with a time of 17:57. Gosvik also succeeded in breaking the DC 5 km record (Jordan Quitzau 18:28, in 2014) for his age category. Tyril Lauzon-Burcombe finished with a time of 19:02 to round out the top 3 DC finishers.

In the women’s category, Leah Purdey completed the run in 22:32 followed by Julia Hodanic, with 23:24.
