Last weekend, the BC Athletics AGM and Awards Banquet took place. It was a great ceremony on Saturday night with about 400 people in attendance. Royals athlete, Julia Hodanic won the 2015 BC Award Road Runner Athlete of the Year for the Junior category (18-19 years old).

In other news, the running team competed very well last Saturday, Dec.5 in the last events of the Lower Mainland Cross Country Series, at Gunner Shaw X-C Memorial in Jericho Sailing Center. The Douglas College Running Club won the 2015 Lower Mainland Cross Country Series, a competition with 40 other BC clubs. The Royals finished with a collective score of 768 points. Important mentions from the competition include Leah Purdey, winner of the women's series, ages 20-29, with 128 points, and Thomas Rogers, winner of the men's series, ages 20-29, with 129 points.
