No student should ever be denied an education or the ability to participate in varsity sport because they cannot afford it.
The ability to participate in varsity sports while pursuing an education requires a tremendous amount of dedication, hard work and support. Inflation and provincial funding cuts for higher education have made it difficult for many students to afford public post-secondary.
The goal of the Royals Scholarship Breakfast is threefold — to raise scholarship funds to offset the cost of being a student-athlete (tuition, fees and some sports having a "pay to play" requirement), provide business leaders a chance to hear and question other influential business leaders and to raise awareness about the quality of Douglas College Athletics programs and our internationally renown student-athletes.
A quality education is critical, therefore, scholarships and financial aid are critical for our students. We are grateful for your support.
