A second-half charge by the Douglas Royals secured the comeback victory on Thursday as they punched their ticket to the national bronze semi-final match.

After a defensive battle gave us a scoreless first half, Rachelle O’Leary broke the tie in the 47’ to give the Trojans the lead.

SAIT would hold this lead into the final third of regulation time until Ashlyn Grim scored for Douglas in the 66’, knotting the match at 1-1. The Royals were not done yet, as Christine Singh would give them the lead in the 72’, ultimately earning them the victory.

The 4Imprint Players of the Match were Ashlyn Grim from Douglas and Erin Mergen from SAIT.

The Royals will now play in the bronze medal semi-final on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Atlantic Time.
