Dalibor Plavsic Named Head Coach of Women’s Soccer Program

Douglas College Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Dalibor Plavsic as the new Head Coach of the Women’s Soccer program. Plavsic assumes the position, ready to lead the Royals in defense of their 2023 PACWEST Conference Championship.

“I’m excited to be working collaboratively with our Royals student-athletes and staff to continue the ongoing success of this program,” says Plavsic. “As a former student-athlete, I am excited to be on the sidelines now — working alongside a talented squad and passionate staff. I look forward to continuing the growth and success of the Douglas College Women’s Soccer program.”

“On behalf of Douglas College Athletics, I would like to welcome Dalibor Plavsic to the Royals’ family,” says Brian McLennon, Director of Athletics & Recreation. “We are looking forward to Dalibor building on the success of the Royals Women’s Soccer program.”

Plavsic, a University of Fraser Valley graduate, has a Bachelor of Kinesiology specializing in Coaching and Pedagogy along with a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia. The Langley resident, and Head Coach of the U18 Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC BCSPL program, is familiar with Douglas College soccer, the PACWEST, and the local soccer landscape across British Columbia.

In addition to his coaching experience, Dalibor has worked as a Performance Analyst with Canada Soccer, directly with both the Canada Women’s & Men’s National Teams and before that with the Vancouver Whitecaps U17 Academy, which demonstrates the operational competencies that are pertinent for the Royals Women’s Soccer program moving forward.

Please join us in welcoming Dalibor Plavsic to the Royals family. He will assume his official responsibilities as of February 1st.
