Athlete Services

Academic Services

Douglas College Athletics is committed to supporting the development of the whole student. Your academic success is critical to building a solid foundation for your future.

Academic Standards and Eligibility

As a student athlete you are required to be a full-time student to maintain athletic eligibility. In most cases, this means that you must complete a minimum of nine credits per major semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher. If you drop below nine credits in any semester you will instantly become ineligible. Any class add/drops must be approved by the Student-Athlete Support Strategist.

If you drop below a 2.0 GPA in any given semester, the next semester you will be placed on athletic probation, which is supervised by the Academic Coach. If you remain under a 2.00 GPA in the next semester you will be academically ineligible to compete.

All Douglas College administered awards require recipients to have a minimum 2.00 GPA.

Student Athlete Support Strategist

The Student-Athlete Support Navigator is responsible for the delivery of the student-athlete support and academics programming. The Navigator will contribute to the student-centered environment by providing an integrated approach to support the educational experience and the overall well-being of the assigned student-athletes. They will create strategies to motivate student-athletes to be responsible and accountable for their academic performance.
