Kira Staley had all the right stuff on Saturday for DC Royals, allowing zero runs and besting Pierce College by a score of 9-0
DC Royals got things started in the first inning when Janessa Hanson doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
DC Royals put up three runs in the second inning. DC Royals put the pressure on, lead by a single by Hanson and an error on a ball put in play by Natasha Bedard.
Staley got the start for DC Royals. She lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking one.
DC Royals racked up 12 hits. Rachel Warburton, Kimberly Anderson, and Hanson each racked up multiple hits for DC Royals. Warburton led DC Royals with three hits in four at bats.
