The Douglas College Royals rolled to a 5-0 victory over the Brandon Bobcats, punching their ticket to the CCAA National Championship semi-final.
Douglas opened the scoring early when Quinn Desaulniers found the back of the net just two minutes in. The Royals continued to press, and in the 15th minute, Dominik Hajdecki doubled the team’s lead.
The Bobcats remained composed and started to find their footing, applying pressure of their own and getting some scoring chances. They put together several solid attacks from the outside but couldn’t put any of their crosses in the goal. Desaulniers then added his second of the match and Douglas’ third right before the half.
The Royals returned to the pitch in the second half with the goal of maintaining their lead. In the 61st minute, Joel Badger added to that lead and then capped it off with a second tally in the 90th minute to confirm the Royals spot in the semi-finals.
